We are so thrilled to be getting ready for our first EVER warehouse sale this Saturday, May 19! Come sift through goodies of all kinds from 10-3 at our new location at 2284 Old Middlefield Way in Mountain View.

Every hour we’ll put setting out new fabrics by the yard, photo props, discontinued inventory, display pieces, craft supplies and all sorts of other wonderful finds!

ACME’s been on a wild ride this last month! Not to “Nowhere In Particular”, thankfully, but to our fabulous new showroom+warehouse!

As you may have seen, heard, or read, ACME is so excited to have moved to a new space just minutes away from our previous location! As things are settling in and we’re sprucing up the place, rest assured we’re plotting new ways to delight and entertain!

We can’t wait to have you all over for a grand Grand Opening as soon as we’ve dotted our “i”s and crossed our “t”s! Keep your eyes open for details!

Somehow the last month flew by. I have a vague recollection of being in Seattle and LA for the gift shows, but essentially, it’s all a blur. And here we are in February already.

This month always seems to conjure up romantic notions and dreams of the ones we love. I recently spent a sick day in bed watching nothing but Downton Abbey, a perfect treat when you’ve got love on the brain.

And if for no other reason, watch it for the breathtaking costumes and elaborate table settings! Although I still don’t know what those 4th and 5th forks are for and I wouldn’t be caught dead in a corset, the visuals are endlessly inspiring.

And of course, who doesn’t want to watch Maggie Smith for hours??

Remember this scene? How absurdly funny it was from the safety of the family room shag rug? Well, let us be the first to tell you, as the proverbial conveyor belt cranks along at breakneck speed, picnic knives, bunting and mango wood platters neither fit in your mouth, nor your bra.

We have been so neglectful of our bloggy duties yet have so much fun stuff to share! But alas, we are typing this with one crooked finger - the one not covered in paper cuts and packing tape residue - and must wait to fill you in on all the ACME shenanigans until after the holiday shipping dust has cleared.

We thank you for keeping our little fingers so busy this holiday season!!! XO!

Heading into the Thanksgiving season it’s inevitable that we all get overwhelmed with the stress, scheduling and emotional and financial demands of the holidays. A great way to help combat this is to create a basket of things for which you and your kids are all grateful.

Whenever you’re hanging out with your kids, whether it’s around the dinner table or during carpool, and the conversation lulls, share something that you’re grateful for and ask them to do the same. Write each idea on a slip of paper and collect them in a basket. Your ideas can be serious or funny, deep or superficial, as long as they’re genuine. As the slips of paper add up, they will become a great place to go whenever someone is feeling crazed or overwhelmed. Read them on your own or together, send a crabby kid to go read a few on their own, or use them as a vehicle for deeper conversations. Not only are they fun to go back and read, but are a powerful way to get some balance back in your day during these hectic times.

Heath Ceramics in Sausalito is now more widely available than ever, and we couldn’t be more excited for all of the people who will now be introduced to this amazing company. This morning’s coffee was inhaled and cereal was scarfed from our beloved Heath dishes, collected over a few years at the Heath Factory Store in Sausalito. In particular, we love the matte black glaze of our dishes - lovely everyday, but especially on Halloween!

We just came across this quote on the gorgeous blog of our lovely friend, Victoria Thorne. Not only do we love the sentiment, but Edward Gorey is one of our absolute favorites. And whose humorously creepy work is more apropos for the season?
